New Delhi. The demand for SUV segments in the Indian market is increasing rapidly. Proof of this is that the SUV segment will account for 52 percent of total car sales in the first half of 2024. If we talk about the first half of the current fiscal year 2025, Tata Punch was the best-selling SUV during this period. Tata Punch sold 1,01,120 units between April and September 2024, compared to 72,626 units in the first half of last fiscal. In this way, Tata Punch’s sales recorded a year-on-year increase of 40.19 percent.
Hyundai Creta ranked second in sales, selling 96,416 units with a year-on-year growth of 15.20 percent. At the same time, Maruti Suzuki Brezza came third, selling 93,659 units and registering a year-on-year growth of 14.31 percent during the period.
Scorpio Sales Increased 35%
Fourth place was taken by Mahindra Scorpio, which sold 81,293 units, registering a year-on-year growth of 35.83 percent. At the same time, Maruti Suzuki Suzuki ranked fifth and sold 73,841 units, registering an increase of 16.32 percent.
The sixth position was taken by Tata Nexon, whose sales were 72,350 units, registering a year-on-year decline of 8.38 percent. Hyundai Venue ranked seventh with 56,521 units sold, registering a year-on-year decline of 10.81 percent.
Sales of the Grand Vitara fell
Coming in at eighth place was Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, whose sales declined by 6.67 percent and sold 55,751 units. Kia Sonet ranked ninth with 55,017 units sold, registering a growth of 40.83 percent. At the same time, Mahindra
Tata Punch successfully maintained its lead in this segment while other SUV models also continued to register their presence in the market with their own growth and decline.
