MG Motor India recently launched the facelifted version of the Astor SUV in the Indian market, which comes with many advanced safety features. Price starts at Rs 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the country’s first car equipped with an AI personal assistant. It is loaded with features, including more than 49 safety features, 14 Level 2 ADAS features, an AI personal assistant, and a 360-degree camera.

More than 49 security features
The new Astor has many new features such as ventilated front seats, auto-dimming IRVM and wireless phone charger. The car now comes with more than 49 safety features, including a 360-degree surround-view camera and 14 Level 2 ADS safety features. A 10.1-inch infotainment system is now standard on all SUV variants and has been upgraded with Smart 2.0 UI.

It now has more connected car features than before, including the Jio voice recognition system as well as weather, news, calculator and voice commands. Its infotainment system now supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wireless connectivity. Like the current model, the car has features such as automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof and a 6-way power adjustable driver’s seat.

The safety rating is 5 stars
For the safety of passengers, it has been equipped with safety features such as six airbags, electronic stability control, hill climb and descent control and heated ORVM. It also features an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which provides features such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and lane departure warning, and blind spot detection. The car has also received a 5-star safety rating in the ASEAN NCAP crash test, proving that the structure of the car is quite stable.

Two engine options are available for the MG Aster. It features a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 110bhp of power and 144Nm of torque. At the same time, another 1.3-liter turbo gasoline engine is available, producing 140 hp and 220 Nm of torque. The transmission options are 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and CVT.
