New Delhi. The problems of Ola Electric, the country’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer, show no end. The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) is already investigating customer complaints against the company. Now the heat of this investigation has reached other electric vehicle manufacturers. According to sources, the CCPA is now preparing to send notices to other electric vehicle manufacturers.
According to the information, the CCPA will soon issue notices to other electric vehicle manufacturers. This notice is sent based on customer complaints registered with the National Consumer Helpline. A major electric vehicle company will likely receive the notice within the next 15 days. A detailed investigation is then initiated based on the products and services.
What’s wrong with Ola Electric?
CCPA found several serious issues while investigating the complaints received by Ola Electric. The company had claimed to have resolved 99.1% of customer complaints. But during the CCPA investigation, this claim was found to be false. According to the investigation, around 80% of the complaints are still unresolved.
Customer satisfaction claims are in question
Ola Electric had said in its filing that out of the total 10,644 complaints received by the CCPA, 99.1% were resolved. The company had also claimed to prioritize customer satisfaction. However, the CCPA rejected this claim and said that the reality is the opposite.
CCPA also found that Ola gave only voucher codes to its customers under its no-questions-asked refund policy, which was a violation of customers’ rights. CCPA had directed Ola to provide customers with the option of alternative refund methods.
Big challenge for the electric vehicle industry
After the fall of Ola Electric, this issue has now become a problem for other electric vehicle manufacturers too. Due to increasing customer complaints and the strictness of the CCPA, the entire electric vehicle industry could come under scrutiny.
The CCPA’s upcoming investigation will determine how transparent and effective companies are in resolving customer complaints. This case is a warning not only to Ola but also to other electric vehicle manufacturers that ignoring customer satisfaction now may prove costly.
