In fact, the first unit of Mahindra Thar Rocks was sold through auction to Akash Minda, Managing Director of Minda Corporation Limited. The first Mahindra Thar Rocks with number plate 001 was delivered to Akash Minda from the Mahindra dealer in Delhi.

Top variant delivered
In fact, the first unit delivered by Thar Rocks is a fully equipped AX7 L automatic 4X4 diesel model, loaded with luxury features. The top features of this model include the Level 2 ADAS system, ventilated seats and the premium Harman Kardon sound system. A special first unit badge has also been affixed to this car, which has the number “01” along with Anand Mahindra’s signature, showing that it is the first unit.

Double the number of bids compared to the old version
The auction of the first unit of Mahindra Thar Rocks was held on September 15 and 16, leaving the starting price at Rs 25 lakh. In just 24 hours, the bidding reached more than Rs 1 billion. The event received over 10,980 registrations, almost double the number of previous three-door Thar model auctions.

Mahindra’s additional contribution to all funds raised at the auction will be donated to the Nandi Foundation, which focuses on improving the lives of farmers and girls in India.

Mahindra Thar rocks engine options
The Mahindra Thar Rocks is available in two engine options including a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel. The auctioned model is equipped with a 2.2-liter diesel engine that produces 172 hp of power and 370 Nm of torque. It includes a 6-speed automatic transmission and low-range all-wheel drive. When bookings began on October 3, there was a lot of interest with 1.76 lakh units booked in just an hour.
