New Delhi. Asif Sheikh plays the role of Vibhuti Narayan Mishra in the popular television show Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain. At the beginning of his career, he appeared in many films. Recently, Asif Sheikh shared his experience of working in Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan’s Karan Arjun. He talked about his signature line in the film.

His signature line in the movie “What a joke” still resonates in the hearts of fans. Asif recalled his experience playing the role of Suraj Singh in the film and shared an interesting behind-the-scenes story.

Emphasis on the line “What a joke”
He said, “When Karan Arjun’s director Rakesh Roshan first told me about this role, he emphasized that ‘What a joke’ was not just a line but the core of Sooraj’s character.” He wanted this to be Suraj’s reaction anything that would give the character an unexpected charm. From day one, I incorporated “What a joke” into every scene. I said this line in different tones depending on the director’s imagination.

The mother played such a disgusting game, the son became a feared serial killer, the suspense begins in the first episode.

Gulshan Grover was the first choice
Asif Sheikh further said, “He was not the first choice for this role.” Gulshan Grover was originally cast in the role of Suraj Singh. He had repeated this scene many times and also said the character’s lines, but I got this role. It was a gamble or something, but it gave me the opportunity to make What a Joke an unforgettable part of Bollywood history.
