PatnaNine months ago, Patna’s Moinul Haq Stadium was in the news for two reasons. The first reason was Bihar’s competition with big Ranji teams after a long break and the second was the dilapidated condition of the stadium. At that time, images of the dilapidated state of the Moinul Haq Stadium were visible on every mobile screen in the country. Now the Ranji game is about to start again in this stadium in the capital Patna, but this time the appearance of the stadium seems to have changed.
When the Local 18 team arrived at the stadium, they saw that the stadium was completing preparations for the first home game of the season. In addition to the ground pavilion, decoration work for the spectator stand is also underway. We tell you that Bihar will face Karnataka on October 26. The team led by Mayank Agarwal will consist of famous players like Manish Pandey, Shreyas Gopal and Mohsin Khan.
A changed image of the stadium could be seen
When the Local 18 crew reached the Moinul Haq Stadium on October 22, they saw that work to make the wicket was underway. The BCCI team has reached Patna and is busy preparing for the game. On the other hand, the spectator stands around the stadium will be cleaned and the seats will be painted.
The seats in the spectator stand will be painted white. If you stand on the field and look around, you will see a white sheet in the stadium. In addition, the green of the site also exudes the scent of change. In addition, large, colorful advertising boards were installed throughout the stadium. One billboard has photos of all BCCI officials and the other billboard has photos of all BCA officials. It is also written: “You are congratulated.”
Preparations are also underway to cover the broken balcony of the VIP stand. The facilities for the players have also been expanded in the pavilion. Particular emphasis is placed on cleanliness. Overall, the Moinul Haq Stadium will be seen in its new form when the game starts on October 26th.
There is an entry ban for spectators
‘Danger’ boards have been put up at various places in the stadium, stating that the condition of the spectator stand is unfit for use, according to the Building Construction Department of the Bihar government. It was classified as dangerous. For this reason, spectators are prohibited from entering this public grandstand. The live score of the match can be viewed on the BCCI app. In this regard, BCA President Rakesh Tiwari said that there will be a ban on spectators from watching live matches.
What has changed in the last nine months
In January this year, during a match against the Mumbai team, the picture of the stadium’s dilapidated state went viral. Bihar had fallen into disgrace at the national and international levels, but out of this disgrace emerged a positive solution. In March, the Bihar government had agreed to hand over the Moinul Haq Stadium to BCCI on a long-term lease.
MOU also approved
On October 22, the Bihar government gave Cabinet permission to sign the MoU. Following the signing of the MoU, the stadium is expected to host numerous international and domestic level cricket matches. A hotel equivalent to a five-star hotel will also be built next to the stadium.
Let us tell you that in the MOU there will be an agreement of Rs 1 per annum for 7 years and after 7 years there will be an agreement of 50:50 profit. BCCI will bear all the costs of rebuilding the stadium. The rental agreement has a term of 30 years. Hotel arrangements are also made. A stadium with a capacity of 40,000 spectators will be built. BCCI will bear all costs. BCA officials said the agreement is being prepared.
Foundation stone laying plan in November
Reconstruction of the stadium will now begin soon. Recently, Bihar Cricket Association President Rakesh Tiwari said that the stadium will be repaired soon. The foundation stone for the reconstruction is expected to be laid in November. Within the next two years, this stadium will be fully developed into a world-class stadium.
