New Delhi. The player who won you the match. When someone who was the player of the game in a historic victory didn’t play the next game, it’s a huge blow to any team. New Zealand also went into the Mumbai Test with the same injury as Mitchell Santner was unable to play due to injury. But until the end of the first day of play, New Zealand did not miss this special player. Mumbai-born Ajaz Patel put India on the defensive by producing a Santner game on the first day.
The third Test match will be played between India and New Zealand in Mumbai. The New Zealand team won the first series by winning the first two Tests. He also got off to a good start in the third test match. At one time he had scored 187 runs for 5 wickets. Then it seemed as if New Zealand would cross the 300-run mark. Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar prevented New Zealand from doing so, picking up quick wickets and packing them all out for 235 runs.
India has also gotten off to a good start. Thanks to Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill, India had once scored 78 runs for 1 wicket. Now there were no more than 10-12 minutes to play. The Indian fans expected that the day’s match would end with the loss of just one wicket and they would post a high score the next day. But Ejaz Patel changed the game. Ajaz Patel is the same bowler who had taken 10 wickets in an innings in the Ahmedabad Test a year ago. His form can prove dangerous for India.
Mumbai-born Ajaz Patel took the wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mohammad Siraj in two consecutive balls, reducing India’s score from 78 for 1 wicket to 78 runs for 3 wickets. The remaining gap was filled by Virat Kohli’s run-out. Once he was out, the score was 84 runs for 4 wickets. India lost these three wickets within 7 balls. India lost the second wicket on the second ball of the 18th over. His fourth wicket fell on the third ball of the 19th over.
