New Delhi. In the third Test played between India and New Zealand, Ravindra Jadeja is happy to take five wickets in Test cricket again but admitted that bowling in wet conditions on a slow pitch was a very difficult task. Jadeja achieved the feat of taking five wickets for the 14th time. He looked dangerous throwing to spots with good length and using various bounces to his advantage.
Jadeja’s assessment of the pitch also suggested that Ravichandran Ashwin’s ball speed may have dropped a bit as he had to use his shoulders more to get help from the pitch. Jadeja told Jeo Cinema: “I felt that you have to bowl mixed (in terms of pace). There is a bounce in the wicket but the ball doesn’t rise. It’s difficult unless you use a lot of shoulders.
When the woman stripped naked in support of the cricketer and came onto the field naked, Gavaskar had narrated the story
He said: “It was a special effort because bowling was not easy in this heat. Even Washington Sundar was a good bowler and played his role well. Now our batsmen have to perform well together.
When asked if he knew that he had overtaken Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma (both of whom had 311 wickets), the 35-year-old cricketer said that he only looks at the numbers when there is no series and he is at home . Referring to the loss of three wickets in one fell swoop in the last half-hour of the day, Jadeja said the first target on Saturday will be to bat well to take the lead in the first innings.
