New Delhi. Indian cricket team batsman KL Rahul has played for Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League for the last three seasons. He decided to leave the team before the mega auction that was scheduled to take place before next year’s tournament. He will take part in the auction, which will be held in Jeddah on November 24th and 25th. Rahul was not included in the list of remaining Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) players. KL has broken his silence after parting ways with the team.
This decision of Rahul has sparked a debate whether it was the franchise’s decision or the player’s own decision. 33-year-old Rahul has finally revealed this. He stated that his wish was to find a new team and return to the Indian T20 team. Rahul told Star Sports, “I wanted to make a fresh start. I wanted to explore my options. I wanted to play where I had some freedom and the team environment was relaxed. Sometimes you have to take a step back and find something good for yourself.
He further said, “I have not been in the T20 team for some time now. I know where I stand as a player. I know what I have to do to get back. I am waiting for this IPL season. Hopefully this gives me the platform to go back and enjoy my cricket. My goal is to get back into the T20 team.”
