Compact SUV sales October 2024: The demand for SUV vehicles in the country’s automobile market is increasing rapidly. From hatchback vehicles, people now prefer to skip small SUVs (subcompact SUVs). Due to this, the proportion of SUV vehicles in the country has increased to over 50%. These vehicles are similar in price to hatchbacks, but offer customers more space and better ground clearance. Maruti Suzuki’s dominance was evident in this segment in October 2024. The company’s Brezza and Frontex were ranked first and second respectively in this list.

The list of top 10 SUVs in this segment includes models like Tata Punch, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Mahindra However, among all these, there was one SUV that became number 1 in sales.

This is called the common man’s Land Rover
The number one compact SUV we are talking about here is none other than Maruti Brezza. In October 2024, the company sold 16,565 units. In October 2023 this value was 16,050 units. In this way, Brezza’s sales increased by 515 units and the company recorded an annual growth of 3.21%. At the same time, Maruti Suzuki recorded sales of 16,419 units, up from 11,357 units in October 2023. Franks sold 5,062 more units, registering a year-on-year growth of 44.57%.

Tata and Hyundai performance
Tata Punch sold 15,740 units in October 2024 and 15,317 units in October 2023. It recorded annual growth of 2.76%. At the same time, sales of the Tata Nexon fell to 14,759 units from 16,887 units last year. There was an annual decline of 12.6%. Hyundai Venue recorded sales of 10,901 units, which was lower than last year’s 11,581 units. It recorded an annual decline of 5.87%.

Contribution from Kia, Mahindra and others

Performance of other SUVs
Toyota Tasar sold 3,092 units in October 2024. Sales of the Maruti Jimny fell to 1,211 units as against 1,852 units last year. It suffered a decline of 34.61%. Sales of the Renault Kiger amounted to 1,053 units, 15.46% more than last year’s 912 units.
