New Delhi. Two centuries in one innings. 23 sixes. Victory by 135 runs… India caused such havoc at the Wanderers against South Africa late on Friday evening that cricket fans will not soon forget. This was the fourth and deciding match of the T20 series between India and South Africa. India scored a massive score of 283 runs in this game. Afterwards, South Africa were bundled out for 148 runs. Tilak Verma and Sanju Samson were the heroes of India’s victory. Both scored centuries in the game. This was the first time that two Indian batsmen scored centuries in a T20 match. Tilak Verma was awarded Player of the Match and Player of the Series.
India defeated hosts South Africa by a huge margin of 135 runs in the fourth T20 match. This is the record of India’s biggest win against South Africa. With this win, India won the four-match series 3-1. This is the first time in T20 history that India has defeated South Africa in three consecutive home matches. India won the first, third and fourth games of the series. Despite hosting, South Africa only managed to win one game in the series.
Sanju-Abhishek gave the desired start
The fourth T20 match between India and South Africa was played in Johannesburg late Friday evening. India won the toss and batted first. Openers Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma gave India the start they wanted with a partnership of 73 runs in 5.5 overs. During this time, he severely thrashed the host bowlers. But that was a trailer. The film started after the dismissal of Abhishek Sharma (36 runs in 18 balls).
Tilak Verma played a stormy innings
After Abhishek Sharma was sent off, Tilak Verma came on the field. He scored a goal himself in the last game. Tilak started batting as if he had finished the third T20 match. This Mumbai batsman immediately hit fours and sixes and overtook Sanju Samson in no time. There was a competition between these two batsmen to complete the century which resulted in a storm of runs on the field.
After Sanju, Tilak also scored a century
Sanju Samson completed his century with a run on the fifth ball of the 18th over while Tilak Verma completed his 100 runs with a four on the first ball of the 19th over. Sanju scored a century in the 51st ball while Tilak Verma achieved the feat in just 41 balls. India scored 23 centuries in this match. With this, he broke his record of 22 centuries in an innings.
Tilak’s second consecutive century
This is Tilak’s second consecutive century while Sanju scored three centuries in his last five games. Last month, he scored a century in the third T20 match against Bangladesh. Sanju then scored centuries in the first and fourth games against South Africa.
Unbeaten partnership of 210 runs
Tilak Verma and Sanju Samson formed an unbeaten partnership of 210 runs. This is the record of India’s biggest partnership for any wicket in a T20 match. Thanks to this partnership, India scored 283 runs for 1 wicket. This is India’s second highest score in T20 matches. India also scored 297 runs in the T20 match.
Arshdeep took 3 wickets
It wasn’t easy for South Africa to reach the target of 284 runs. Arshdeep Singh’s deadly bowling made it even more impossible. Arshdeep Singh dismissed Reeza Hendricks in the first over and also Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen in the second over. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya had also sacked Ryan Rickleton. As a result, South Africa’s score was 10 runs for 4 wickets.
Ramandeep Singh delivered the final blow
From the 10/4 position it was impossible for any team to win. That wasn’t possible at all. Tristan Stubbs (43), David Miller (36) and Marco Jansen (29) played short innings to enable their team to reach just halfway to India’s score. Ramandeep Singh dealt the final blow to the African team by dismissing Lutho Sipamla. India defeated the African team by 148 runs in 18.2 overs and won the game by 135 runs.
