Washington: Historian Alan Lichtman, who is known for accurately predicting presidential election results, has made a major prediction regarding the US presidential election. He has said that Kamala Harris will win the 2024 US presidential election. Despite close polls suggesting a close race with Donald Trump, Lichtman remains confident in his forecast.
He emphasized that his predictions are based on a long-standing method called “The Keys to the White House,” which he developed with Vladimir Kelis-Borok in 1981. Lichtman’s prediction system evaluates 13 key factors, such as the party’s position in Congress, economic conditions, scandals, social unrest and the candidate’s charisma. He points out that these indicators have provided reliable forecasts in the past. They currently believe that eight key factors provide “true” answers, supporting the assumption of a Harris victory.

Lichtman receives threats regarding his prediction.
Lichtman acknowledged that his predictions have faced unprecedented backlash this election cycle. He said he received obscene and threatening messages. He claimed he also received threats against his family members. This level of hostility is unlike anything he has experienced in previous elections.
Although Lichtman remains optimistic about his forecast, he says foreign policy may influence the results. He pointed to the Joe Biden administration’s involvement in the Gaza conflict, which could change important factors in his analysis. However, he believes that given the current political climate, even a complete change in the foreign policy situation will not be enough for Trump to reclaim the presidency.
