Phone call from Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin: There are still at least three months left until America’s new President Donald Trump takes office. He has already started his work following the example of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On Sunday, in the middle of the war between Russia and Ukraine, he called Vladimir Putin. Meanwhile, the two heads of state and government discussed the Ukraine crisis. Prime Minister Modi is also making all possible efforts to resolve the Russia-Ukraine crisis. In recent months he has visited both Russia and Ukraine. He has also given special responsibility to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval to make efforts to end the war.
According to the Washington Post, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin expressed their determination to resolve the Ukraine crisis peacefully in the phone call. During the call, Trump reportedly urged Putin not to start a war in Ukraine. Trump spoke to the Russian leader from his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida and reminded him of the large U.S. military presence in Europe, a person familiar with the call said. The two heads of state and government also discussed the goal of peace on the European continent.
Trump on Modi’s path
PM Modi is known as a leader who sleeps only four hours a day and works continuously the rest of the time. Trump also seems to be taking a similar path. Even before he took office, he began working towards resolving the world’s two major wars, following Prime Minister Modi’s example. After his victory in the recent presidential election, Trump spoke to more than 70 heads of state and government. These include Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Trump is scheduled to be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on January 20, 2025. Ukraine was also informed about the Trump-Putin call.
