On Tuesday, Delhi Capitals appointed Munaf Patel as a bowling trainer for the next season of the Indian Premier League. Munaf Patel will work with the head coach of the team, Hemang Badani, and cricket director Venugopal Rao.

The 41-year-old Munich Patel takes over the first time in his career. He will replace James Hopes at the Delhi Capitals. The Australian James Hopes left the franchise together with head coach Ricky Ponting after IPL 2024.

Munaf Patel played games in all three formats for India. He withdrew from the professional cricket in 2018. In his career, Munaf played 86 international games and won 125 wickets. He was part of the Indian team that won the World Cup in 2011. He also won the IPL twice with the Rajasthan Royals (2008) and the Mumbai Indians (2013).

Delhi Capitals has committed four players, Akshar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs and Abhishek Porel for the coming season. He released the rest of the players, including Rishabh Pant, who was captain of the team last season.
