New Delhi. The Indian team has been announced for the Test series against Australia. The names of spinner Kuldeep Yadav and all-rounder Akshar Patel are not in the team participating in this tour. Both players could have proved important for India in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, then why were they left out? In fact, Kuldeep is facing fitness issues. Akshar, on the other hand, was not given a chance by the voters for a different reason.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian Test team for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-2025 against Australia. This series starts on November 22nd. One important name is missing from the team and that is left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav. Kuldeep played for India in the first Test against New Zealand earlier this month. However, BCCI has clarified that Kuldeep’s absence is due to injury.
BCCI said in a statement: “Kuldeep Yadav was not available for selection for the Australia tour. “He was sent to the BCCI Center of Excellence after the ongoing Test series against New Zealand for a long-term solution to his chronic left groin problem.”
At the same time, Axar Patel was also left out of the Indian Test team as he was included in the T20I team for the South Africa tour.
