New Delhi. In the last few years, demand from Indian customers for the SUV segment has been steadily increasing. A clear example of this is that this segment accounted for 52 percent of total car sales in India in the first half of 2024. According to the September 2024 sales data, Hyundai Creta took the top position and the sales of this SUV stood at 15,902 units, registering a year-on-year growth of 21 percent.
However, during this period, the company’s second SUV, Hyundai Tucson, experienced disappointment. Only 98 units were sold last month, an annual decline of 58.65 percent.
Features of the Hyundai Tucson
The Hyundai Tucson’s cabin offers customers many modern features, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch driver display, connected car technology, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated and ventilated front seats as well as features such as cell phone charging included. In terms of safety, it has been equipped with facilities like 6 airbags and a 360-degree camera.
The starting price ex-showroom of the Hyundai Tucson ranges from Rs 29.02 lakh to Rs 35.94 lakh for the top model.
Powertrain options
There are two engine options available to customers in the Hyundai Tucson. The first is a 2.0L diesel engine that produces a maximum power of 186 horsepower and a maximum torque of 416 Nm. The second option is a 2.0-liter gasoline engine that produces 156 horsepower and a maximum torque of 192 Nm. Both engines are paired with a torque converter automatic transmission.
In this way, Hyundai Tucson offers customers a satisfactory option in terms of equipment and powertrain, even if the decline in sales remains a concern.
