Recently, Nikhil Advani claimed that if Kal Ho Na Ho had been released in modern times, it would have easily grossed Rs 1,000 crore at the box office.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, director Nikhil Advani spoke about the budget of Kal Ho Na Ho. He said, “Earlier, we could make a film like ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ and no one would have cared how much it was made for and how it would perform.” It was made for Rs 32 crores. If we look at today’s inflation, the company would have earned more than Rs 1,000 crore.

Nikhil Advani further shared that ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ continues to be praised even after years. He recalled that people still remember Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic necklace, Rani’s miniskirt and the emotional moment of his character’s death in the film. The director said that for him the film is the true blockbuster that people are still talking about even after 10 years.

The box office collection crossed Rs 250 crore, now there is excitement on OTT, the film immediately hit number 1 when it was released.

The story of the film ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ revolves around Naina (Preity Zinta), whose life changes when she meets her vivacious neighbor Aman (Shahrukh Khan). They both start to love each other but Aman doesn’t express his love for her. After learning about Aman’s past, Naina marries her best friend Rohit (Saif Ali Khan).

Earnings were more than 80 Crores
According to Bollywood Hungama’s report, Shahrukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan’s film ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ grossed Rs 38 crore across the country. At the same time, the film’s total worldwide collection stood at Rs 81.95 crore. “Kal Ho Na Ho” proved to be a hit at the box office.
