Billionaire Elon Musk caused a stir on Saturday with a promise. He has said he will donate $1 million (Rs 8,000,000) every day until the November election to anyone who signs his online petition. First prize goes to a PAC supporting Republican Donald Trump. However, questions are now being raised about the validity of the payment.

Musk presented a $1 million check to a man who attended his America PAC event in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to rally supporters for presidential candidate Trump. According to program staff, the winner was a man named John Dreher.

Musk wants to use his money to influence presidential elections?

Josh Shapiro said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday that Musk’s plan to donate money to registered voters in Pennsylvania was “extremely concerning” and “that law enforcement should look into it.” Questions arose Saturday evening about the legality of these cash payments as election law experts pointed to various provisions of federal law that prohibit cash payments to voters.
