Will Donald Trump change his mind after previously keeping a tight grip on Iran, will he now make some kind of gift to end the war with Israel?

Donald Trump made history with his big victory in the US presidential election. For now, Trump will be referred to there as President-Elect. On January 20th he will be sworn in and officially become the 47th President of America. Trump, 78, will be the oldest president to hold the office. This is the second time in American history that a president has returned to the White House after an election defeat. Previously, then-President Grover Cleveland lost the election in 1888, but then won again in the 1892 election.

With Donald Trump’s return to the White House, a major change in American foreign policy is emerging. Trump has expressed it several times in his election speeches and confirmed after his election victory that he wants to end the ongoing wars in the world. Be it the war between Russia and Ukraine or the war in the Middle East that began with Hamas’ attack on Israel but has quickly reached the doorsteps of Lebanon, Syria and Iran.

In such a situation, the question arises as to what policy Donald Trump will pursue in the Israeli-Iranian war if he becomes president again. This question also becomes important because as soon as Trump won the election, chaos reigned in Iran. It seems as if the value of its currency has plummeted. When the election results were announced yesterday, the price of one US dollar in Iran had crossed the 7 lakh riyal mark.

An agreement was actually reached with Donald Trump’s predecessor, President Barack Obama, to stop the nuclear program with Iran, but during Trump’s first term in office in 2017, America broke the nuclear deal with Iran and increased the scope of sanctions against the country. Iran’s most powerful commander, Qasim Sulemani, was killed during Trump’s rule. Back then, Iran had vowed a lot of revenge, but it seems helpless under Trump’s severity.

In such a situation, the question arises whether Trump will change his mind this time or whether he can show leniency towards Iran. In fact, the situation has changed significantly between 2017 and 2024. West Asia is currently engaged in a bitter war and many fear that it could become a world war or even a third world war any day. In such a situation, this will be a tall order for Trump, who won the presidential election promising to end the war.

Trump would not want the war in West Asia to spread to the entire world, and his first attempt would be to reach an agreement between Israel and Iran. Now both parties are definitely getting something from the agreement. That’s why the focus is now on how Trump deals with Iran in his second program.
