New Delhi. After losing the Test series against New Zealand, India suffered a major setback in the ICC team and player rankings. ICC has released the player ranking after the team ranking in which Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma suffered major losses. Virat Kohli is out of the top 20 for the first time in 10 years. Among Indian batsmen, Rishabh Pant has moved up five places to enter the top 10.

Virat Kohli has dropped 8 places in the ICC Test rankings. In the current ranking he has slipped to 22nd place. This is Virat Kohli’s worst finish since December 2014. Kohli had scored 93 runs in the 3-match series against New Zealand. It only spanned half a century.

Like Virat Kohli, Indian captain Rohit Sharma also had a very poor performance against New Zealand. Rohit might score fewer runs than Virat. In 6 innings, he scored just 91 runs with his bat. Rohit Sharma is ranked 26th in the current rankings. As for India’s other batsmen, Yashasvi Jaiswal is ranked fourth and Rishabh Pant is ranked sixth. Only these two batsmen are included in the top 10. Shubhman Gill is at number 16.

In this ranking of batsmen, Ravindra Jadeja is ranked 47th and Shreyas Iyer is ranked 61st. Shreyas Iyer is currently not in Team India. These days he is playing Ranji games for Mumbai. Iyer has scored two consecutive centuries in the Ranji Trophy. In the current ICC rankings, KL Rahul and Axar Patel are jointly ranked 62nd.

India’s dominance continues in the bowling rankings. Jasprit Bumrah is the first and Ravichandran Ashwin is the second. Ravindra Jadeja also made it to sixth place. Washington Sundar, who performed well against New Zealand, has moved up 7 places to 46th among Test bowlers.
