New Delhi. Citroën India launched the Explorer Edition of the Citroën Aircross in the Indian market on November 4. Its exterior has been given special khaki inserts and body stickers at a cost of Rs 24,000. In addition, a black hood panel was also used on the outside, which makes the appearance even more spectacular.

The interior gets premium features such as illuminated side skirts, footwell lighting and a dashcam. If you opt for the Rs 51,700 optional package with the special edition, you will also get the Rear Seat Entertainment package with dual port adapter, making the ride even more comfortable for the passengers.

Explorer Edition Features

The headlights have also been upgraded in the Explorer Edition. Instead of the previous halogen lamps, new LED projector headlights are provided, which provide better illumination. In addition, the ORVMs (Outer Rear View Mirrors) now have electrically adjustable and automatically folding functions. As before, there are 17-inch light alloy wheels in a bicolor look on the side, otherwise nothing has changed in the exterior design.

The layout of the dashboard in the cabin remains the same, but soft-touch materials have now been used, giving it a more premium feel. In addition, features such as six airbags, rear vents with automatic climate control, a sliding front armrest, a new folding key, a grab handle and a rear power window switch on the door panel are now standard on the vehicle.

How much is the price?
Talking about the price, the ex-showroom price of the special model is Rs 10.23 lakh. At the same time, the base model is available at a starting price of Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India) and the price of the top variant goes up to Rs 14.35 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). This car is available in 5-seater and 7-seater versions.

In this segment, Citroen Aircross competes with vehicles like MG Astor, Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Maruti Grand Vitara. Apart from this, the 7-seater Aircross can also be a good alternative to the Mahindra Scorpio Classic.

The SUV is equipped with a powerful engine
In terms of power, the special edition of this SUV comes with the same 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 110 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque with 6-speed manual transmission and 205 Nm of torque with 6-speed torque converter automatic .

Additionally, this SUV now also comes with the option of a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder naturally aspirated engine that produces 81 HP of power and 115 Nm of torque and is mated exclusively to a 5-speed manual transmission. The same engine configuration is also found in the C3 hatchback and the Basalt coupe SUV.
