New Delhi. The discount offers given during Navratri and Dussehra are now over, but many automobile manufacturers have extended their festival offers till Diwali. Additionally, some retailers offer additional discounts on clearance models. Hyundai’s Kona EV electric car is also included in this list, for which benefits of up to Rs 200,000 are available.
Hyundai has removed the Kona EV from its website and only sells the Hyundai Ioniq 5 in this segment. However, Kona EV stock is still available at many dealers and deep discounts are offered to redeem them. The starting price of this car is Rs 23.84 lakh (ex-showroom).
Kona electric vehicle sales decline
The Hyundai Kona EV, which was launched in 2019, is the company’s first electric model in the Indian market. However, no major updates have been made since then and sales have been declining in recent months. Despite enormous price discounts, there was no increase in sales. According to reports, the company is preparing to launch the Creta EV soon, which is why the sales of the Kona EV are being discontinued.
Features of the new Kona EV
The new Hyundai Kona EV is offered with two battery pack options of 48.4 kWh and 65.4 kWh. The company says this car will offer a WLTP range of 490 kilometers on a full charge. The EV crossover will come to market in standard and long-range models. It will have modern features such as a 12.3-inch dual-screen dashboard, ADAS, LED lighting and an electronic gear selector.
The front features a wraparound light bar and a pixel graphic exterior, sharp lines and split LED headlights like the Ioniq 5. The length of the car is 4,355mm, which is 150mm more than the old Kona EV, while the wheelbase is up 25mm was extended.
Security and technology
The Hyundai Kona EV is equipped with advanced safety features such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, High Beam Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and Forward Collision Avoidance Assist. Additionally, the car comes with premium features such as Bose 8-speaker sound system, keyless entry, OTA updates, heads-up display, connected car technology and power tailgate.
