After World Cup loss, Team India is ready to play New Zealand, coach said – World Cup will be held next year…

New Delhi. Indian women’s team head coach Amol Majumdar said the team has put the “disappointment” of the T20 World Cup behind them and will look strong in the three-match ODI series against New Zealand on Thursday, October 24 will go into the field. The Indian team was defeated by New Zealand in the opening match of this World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. The team led by Harmanpreet Kaur failed to reach the semi-finals while New Zealand became the champions of this tournament.

Majumdar said ahead of the first ODI of the series: “The team and players were very hurt by the World Cup results.” However, we need to focus on the positive things we have done as a group in the last 10 months. Just a few months ago we beat South Africa 3-0 in Bengaluru. So we’re really looking forward to the series (against New Zealand). This is an important series.”

He said: “We are a strong team and want to focus on our strengths. At the same time, we are working on where the team needs to improve. I’m sure this will be a very competitive series. New Zealand captain Sophie Devine said it will be a big challenge for the Indian team to face in these conditions.

“Playing against India in these conditions will always be a big challenge. We are very excited about this challenge. We will look to continue the momentum achieved in the T20 World Cup. For us, this series is about securing qualification points for the World Cup. That’s why our first priority is to qualify for next year’s World Cup. I think we’re really in a good position to come here and have some success.”
