New Delhi. The Indian automobile industry is leaving its mark across the world. Many major automobile manufacturers produce their cars in India and not only sell them in the domestic market but also export them to many countries around the world. The reports released information about how many cars and SUVs were exported from India in September 2024 and which five cars and SUVs were exported the most during this period.

According to reports, a total of 67,379 passenger car and SUV units were exported in September 2024. This value represents an increase of 12 percent compared to 60,079 units in the same period last year. This means that exports increased by more than 12 percent year-on-year.

These cars were the most sought after
More than 50 cars and SUVs have been exported from India to many countries. However, among these, the Nissan Sunny was the most in demand. The special thing is that the company does not sell this sedan in India but exports it to various countries after manufacturing it in India. A total of 5,863 units of this car were exported in September 2024, while 7,361 units were exported in the same month last year.

Maruti Fronx in second place
Second in exports was Maruti Fronx, whose 5,200 units were exported. During the same period last year, only 1,143 units were exported, representing a significant increase this year.

Maruti Jimny in third place
Maruti Jimny secured the third position with a total export of 4,948 units in September 2024. During the same period last year, only 78 units of this SUV were shipped abroad, which is significantly less compared to this year’s performance.

Hyundai Verna in fourth place
The South Korean company’s Hyundai Verna mid-size sedan exported 4,863 units in September 2024. However, 5,482 units were exported in the same period last year, slightly more than this year.

Honda Elevate is also included
The Japanese automaker’s Honda Elevate compact SUV, launched in 2023, made it to the list of top five export cars. A total of 4,841 units of this SUV were exported in September 2024.
